About SAKMEDIA and Scot Kuchta
Created in 1999, XstreamAnglers and SAKMedia LLC is the vision of founder Scot Kuchta. Born in South Central Idaho, Scot grew up where the central mountain ranges meet the vast farmlands of southern Idaho. His youth was spent along the river drainage's of the area turning over rocks and exploring nature. Joining the Boy Scouts in Idaho, Scot's pursuit and love of the outdoors began to develop. Relocating with his family at a young age to Seattle Washington, the presence of Steelhead and Salmon soon began to impact him.
At 21 years old Scot entered the business world and founded his own company which soon grew to the pinnacle of it's performance and one of the largest companies in it's industry. Scot sold the company 9 years later and retired to pursue his lifelong passion, Flyfishing. Forming SAKMedia and XstreamAnglers was his way to pursue his passion in life. Armed with a simple 3 megapixel digital camera, it all started. With a vision to pursue trout under any circumstance, any place at any time, Scot set out to capture and document the trout and fish that inhabit our river drainage's. His reputation and commitment to excellence have grown, Scot is considered by many to be one of the last true fly anglers in the west.
XstreamAnglers and SAKMEDIA LLC are the creation of Scot Kuchta of Seattle Washington and Clinton Montana. Identifying a need for new visual stimulation in the flyfishing genre, Scot set out to recruit others who believed that flyfishing is both an adventure and a visual sensation. It is believed that the only way flyfishing can be seen in it's entirety is to spend as much time on the water as one can.
On the water over 250 days a year allow us to seek out new water, new locations and the fish we catch. We believe that there is no greater artist than Nature, we set out to show Nature's beauty in our nations watersheds and it's inhabitants. Each adventure brings us new knowledge and stories. XstreamAnglers, SAKMEDIA LLC and StreamX Productions seeks the images of the outdoor flyfishing world. We travel over 100,000 miles each and every year on expeditions or production contracts seeking the images in flyfishing that compliments specific products or to document a flyfishing expedition. Our services include product and brand photography, promotional video production and expedition photography and videography. Our product contracts include some of the industry's elite manufacturers down to the mom and pop small seasonal flyshops as well as guides and outfitters. Our images appear around the world in publication both in advertisement and imagery.Our efforts and work have led to appearances on ESPN, FOX Sports and FOX News. Our ideal and mission to deliver the best media nature has to offer to the flyangler, the public and the soon to be flyangler.
[+]With widespread recognition, our product brand photography and layout brings a new and unique focus to products. We have been challenged by the best and we have challenged the best for newer and higher standards. Our images exist in flyshops, catalogs, magazines, websites, television new broadcasts as well as national broadcast.
With a desire to pursue trout, steelhead and salmon in an environment as pure and natural as can be provided, we set out to photograph and document the fish as well as the adventures that takes us to these locations. Gathering Digital, SLR, DV and DVCAM footage of these locations create a database of beta footage, still photography and specific footage related to the flyfishing industry at our immediate disposal. Our photography catalog images range in the thousands specific to entomology, trout and species, scenery in all seasons and fish of each of the related categories. Our production work includes video promotional footage, documentary works and freelance contract work in expedition journalism and documentation. Our travels take us far, our ability to work mobility packing cam/vid gear miles into remote locations reachable by foot or boat only set us apart from many others.

Over the years, friends and contacts have been made that allow us to fish very productive private waters where the scenery and fish are second to none.

Our crew spends countless hours trekking into far and remote places in search of fish and the various inhabitants of our nations watersheds. It is not uncommon for us to travel 10 miles plus in each direction up or down a river in search of these fish. All of our gear goes with us each and every time with the use of smaller PRO DV cams and well used back packs, we have turned down no challenge to date.
In an understanding of your product and or the importance of your expedition, XstreamAnglers strives to bring you the best documentation and imagery based on your product and or expedition.Our services have been used to document large flyfishing retreats in the west as a photojournalists and videographers. Our services have been utilized in site location used by location services tailored to the movie industry. We have supplied hundreds of hours of beta footage for municipalities and townships for use in local tourism advertisement. Our product photography has challenged us to raise the bar in how we showcase the beauty of flygear in photography, as a result we have photographed rods from the top price range to the affordable for the beginner. Our work has showcased lodges, panoramic imagery, and all of the elements that combine to what we call flyfishing.

It is often asked of us why we do what we do. Never really having an answer for this question the general answer is "I really don't know". In short, if I personally knew why I loved what draws me to rivers day after day in search of the fish that inhabit it's waters, I may not love it as much, at least that is my theory.

Finding the beauty in the watersheds that criss cross our country is a passion, the search of new water, new scenery, new fish and people. Our years in the watersheds of the west have given us information, access and contacts that will last a lifetime. Each new excursion brings new contacts and friends, it is a simple philosophy of existing the best way that you can where you are at.
